About
"We provide a safe structured loving environment to orphan and vulnerable children to achieve there full potential to become responsible adults." -Anthea Thebus general manager
A registered nonprofit organisation ( NPO 173-673). We have a mandate to act according to the Children's Act, Act 38 of 2005 to protect vulnerable children.
The Women of Westlake started in 2002 as a emergency safe house for vulnerable children of the area. We have since grown and offering more services such as a ECD Centre, Aftercare School Programme, Holiday Club for school children and feeding them.
Our organization was established due to the need of vulnerable children that was either neglected and came from impoverished families, orphaned or abandoned by family members or the community. A large number of our youth is either unemployed or school drop outs and our Community is not always able to assist them to improve their life, as the result of the problem identified.
The Women of Westlake Child Protection organization has given 25 youth between the ages of 14-20 that has either gone through our youth after care school or holiday program and this has installed some dignity and confidence in them. We have registered 4 of our team with college of Cape Town Early Childhood Development Training to embrace the challenges of improving the standard of ECD in Westlake Village to provide the best opportunities for our children.
"We take pride in what we do and how we serve our community"
